Verses from Psalms 140 and 141

Lord, I have cried to Thee, hear me. Hear me, O Lord. Lord, I have cried to Thee, hear me. Attend to the voice of my prayer, when I cry to Thee. Hear me, O Lord. Let my prayer go straight to Thee like incense, and let the lifting up of my hands be an evening sacrifice. Hear me, O Lord.

Vesper Song to the Son of God

Glad Light of the holy glory of the immortal, heavenly, holy and blessed Father, Jesus Christ. Now that we have come to the setting of the sun and have seen the evening light, we praise God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is meet at all times to praise Thee with happy voices, O Son of God and Giver of Life. Therefore the world glorifies Thee.

Prayer at the Approach of Sundown

Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this evening without sin. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, the God of our Fathers, and praised and glorified is Thy name for ever. Amen. May Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as our trust is in Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Lord; teach me Thy rights. Blessed art Thou, O Master; grant me to understand Thy rights. Blessed art Thou, O Holy One; enlighten me by Thy rights. Thy mercy, O Lord, is eternal. Despise not the works of Thy hands. To Thee belongs praise, to Thee belongs song, to Thee glory belongs, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer of Saint Symeon
