    He was born in Transylvania, in 1903. He studied philosophy and theology in Rumania and Athens. He went on studying philosophy and history at Berlin and Munich.
    Priest, professor and Christian Orthodox theologian, Dumitru Staniloae was the rector of the Theological Academy in Sibiu and then professor at the Bucharest Theological Institute.
